Ten ways to a more inclusive library

Hoping to show up as an LGBTQ+ Ally as a curator?

Here are ten ways to make sure your digital and physical shelves suggest an inclusive mindset:

1.Be a fan of the LAMBDA AWARDS and scope out recent recipients here.

2. Level up on your awareness of representation in comics here or here.

3. Vlogger/Blogger Cece Ewing  (you may want to check out this episode) has a fantastic GoodReads shelf with a growing list of great queer reading here.

4. Follow #ownvoices on Twitter–see what is being shared OR learn more about it from teen BookTuber Kav in her video here.

5. Check out the free webcomic Galanthus and follow the author online here.

6. How many of The Advocate’s Top 25 Queer Fiction titles can you ensure your library offers?

7. Travel through a timeline of queer fiction through this outstanding resource.

8. Follow #queerbooks on Instagram.

9. Bookriot is often doing more for marginalized voices and their post “15 TRANS, NONBINARY, AND GENDER NON-CONFORMING WRITERS TO SUPPORT” is totally worth checking out.

10. Scope out the database for queer character here at https://queerreads.org/

Did I forget one of your favorite resources? Let me know about it in the comment section.
